The Hanuman Jhanda is a sacred flag bearing the image of Lord Hanuman, the revered monkey god and devotee of Lord Rama. In Hindu mythology, Hanuman is revered for his unwavering devotion, strength, and bravery. The Jhanda is a symbol of his unshakeable faith and loyalty, and is often displayed in homes, temples, and public spaces to ward off evil spirits and bring blessings.

During rituals and festivals, the Hanuman Jhanda is typically placed at the entrance of the puja area or near the deity, serving as a reminder of Lord Hanuman's protective presence. Devotees often offer prayers, flowers, and vermilion to the flag, seeking the blessings of Lord Hanuman for strength, courage, and wisdom. In some traditions, the Jhanda is also used to mark the beginning of a new venture or journey, as a symbol of auspiciousness and good fortune.

According to traditional belief, the Hanuman Jhanda has the power to dispel negative energies and bring peace and prosperity to the devotee's life. Its presence is said to invoke Lord Hanuman's blessings, granting the devotee courage, confidence, and spiritual growth. The Jhanda is often made of durable materials, such as cloth or metal, to ensure its longevity and continued blessings.
